I am sure you are thinking why a window will be open for 10 days only and will open on a specific day. This is not a Teenager's Room window or Boy's Hostel Room Window opening in front of Girls Hostel. Not a window opening in front of Beach or a window gives view of Hills when looking out form a Resort in a hill station. Dear I am talking about the coming CAT examination which will continue for a period of 10 day from 28th Nov 2009 to 7th Dec 2009. I wish BEST OF LUCK to all the CAT aspirants. I would like to give the last minute tips to all candidates. In my view the difficulty level will be lower than last year CAT papers. May this year we will have pattern according to GMAT means easy Quant but logical and Difficult Verbal. This year there are 20 different slots on 10 different day giving more permutations and combination for number of questions. May they can vary from 60 to 70 in each paper without repetition of questions. Or they will have exact pattern for all the papers but that pattern also have many combinations as 25, 25, and 15 in Verbal Quant and DI respectively or 25, 20, 20 or 25, 25, 20 or 25, 20-25, 15-20. Also there will be more inclusion of DS problems in Quant as well as DI as they will save the time and require complete in depth knowledge of the topic from which they are asked. The passage in Verbal will be short and have more and more vocab. Well this is all my prediction and the curtain raiser will be from 28th to 7th Dec. Hope for a challanging as well as error less CAT.

The green shoots are springing up and they're becoming visible at the Indian Institutes of Management, bringing some hope that the economy is looking up
Pre-placement offers (job offers which come to students before the final placements) have begun to pour in for the graduating class of 2010. The IIMs are seeing a positive response from all sectors.
At IIM-Bangalore, consulting firms, which participated in the summer placement last year have announced their PPO results and all students received PPOs. "IIM-Bangalore is the only IIM with a 100% success rate till now. While this speak highly about the institution as a brand, credit must be given to students and their calibre too. The success rate is actually better than last year's," Vineet Sharma, placement representative, IIM-B, told TOI.
Last year, 12 consulting firms participated in these process. Some of the firms were McKinsey & Co, Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Co. Also, consulting majors Alvarez & Marsal and Result recruited students for the first time.
This year, the positions offered vary a fair bit. "But, it's on a par with an entry-level MBA position across the world," Sharma said. Last year, 120 companies confirmed their participation for the 270 students. During last year's summer placements at IIMB, overall 24% of the batch accepted a position in a consulting career, known for its demand for multi-functional skills and cutting across finance, strategy and marketing. Other sectors which saw a significant number of offers included finance (21%), investment banking (20%), marketing (13%) and general management (13%). Consulting firms like McKinsey & Co., Boston Consulting Group and Bain & Co. recruited the highest number of interns from IIM-B. Interestingly, students have also bagged 2-3 international offers.
IIM-Calcutta students too are happy as they've got offers from across sectors, including FMCGs. Though IIM-C refused to give the number of offers made, it said the offers are a positive sign for students, especially during this recession. Students here bagged offers from the finance sectors and international ones. The IIM-C didn't rule out the possibility of more than 10 overseas offers. Paul Savio, external relations secretary, IIM-C told TOI that some banks have put off the PPOs till September. "Earlier, we'd get the offers during May-June from some firms. One reason could be that banks want to see if the markets are doing better and hire people, if required. However, we're only some of the few lucky IIMs to get offers from the finance sector," he added.
Indian Institute of Management-Indore (IIM-I) started to receive PPOs from mid-June. With 240 students in the 2008-10 class, PPOs are more from for the marketing and finance sectors. "We're constantly in touch with firms and received a positive response," sources at placement committee, IIM-I said. He said PPOs would pick up later this year. "However, it's better compared to last year's," he added

पंजाब कोऑपरेशन मिनिस्टर कैप्टेन कंवलजीत सिंह एक कार दुर्घटना मे स्वर्ग वासी हो गए ! Captain Kanwaljit Singh, senior SAD leader and minister for cooperation in Government of Punjab Sunday died in a road accident near Chandigarh.
His car was hit by a speeding truck at village Khanpur near Kharar(Punjab) around 4.30 PM and he died on spot. He was taken to PGI Chandigarh where he was declared dead.
Varun Gandhi was born to Sanjay Gandhi and Maneka Gandhi on March 13, 1980 in New Delhi. He was only 2 month old when his father passed away in a plane crash. Varun was exposed to politics from an early age as his mother, Maneka, was politically active since his birth. In February 2004, he joined the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) along with his mother Maneka after being convinced to do so by BJP general secretary Pramod mahajan. In November 2004, he was inducted into the BJP national executive. In January 2008, it was the report in media that his mother Maneka will vacate her six-time constituency of Pilibhit in Uttar Pardesh for Varun during the 2009 elections to give him a solid political start, while she will contest from neighboring Anwla BJP decided to field Varun Gandhi from the Pilibhit Lok sabha seat for general election 2009.
His Controversial Speach
At a meeting in Dalchand locality on March 6, 2009, he allegedly said :
"If somebody lifts a hand against Hindus Hindus, or thinks they are weak, there is nobody behind them, then I swear on the Bhagvad Gita(Hindus's holy book) that I will cut off that hand"
At the same rally, he is supposed to have said :
"All the Hindus stay on this side and send the others to Pakistan. This is the Lotus hand, it will cut their throats after elections."
He also made some derogatory remarks against Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
The Election Commission of India asked the Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh, to file a case under IPC and Representation of the People Act against Varun Gandhi and issued a notice to him for violation of election Model Code of Conduct.
On 29 March, Varun Gandhi surrendered before the local court in Pilibhit , after his anticipatory bail expired in the presence of a large number of supporters. He was arrested and jailed
On 30 march 2009 , he was granted bail in the case against him for the violation of code of conduct but still remains behind Bars as he also faces charges under the stringent National Security Act (NSA). A court in Pilibhit granted bail to the young leader in two cases filed against him for allegedly communal and inflammatory speeches he made in the run-up to the elections and violence by his supporters when he was arrested on Saturday.
This 20 days drama still continue and results wit the announcement that Varun Gandhi, will be candidate from Pilibhit on the ticket of BJP.
South Africa was on 24/03/2009 named as the host for the second edition of the Indian Premier League which has been shifted out of India
because of security apprehensions. Important Points regarding this are as follows:
The decision was taken between IPL (or NRIPL) commissioner Lalit Modi and Cricket South Africa CEO Gerald Majola in Johannesburg.
England was ruled out from the race of hosting on account of weather as weather will be suitable for the tournament in South Africa. Modi also thanks England for showing interest in the hosting of the tournament.
The tournament will be held between April 18 and May 24, a delay of about one week from the original schedule of April 10, 2009.
Six venues have been identified for staging the eight-team tournament.
The matches will start at 4 pm IST and 8 pm IST to make it convenient for Indian television viewers back home.
The tournament will feature 59 matches as planned.
The names of the teams will not be changed and they will be same as they were in the last seasons tournaments.
